A typical day at Kindy

We aim to create an inviting and engaging environment where the children are able to explore, play and learn.

When children arrive at Kindy they should put their own bags away and pop their lunch box and drink bottle by the kitchen. Parents sign children in and out of Kindy on the sheet provided at the entrance.

Generally children can choose to play inside or outside through much of the day. Teachers observe children’s play, interact and support their learning throughout the day.

There are several 'mat time' sessions during the day which explore learning opportunities that originate from the children's interests. Teachers and children may read stories, sing songs, discuss topics of interest, give a 'show and tell', or share the children’s portfolios.

Cubbies by the door provide the children somewhere to put their bags and gear
Children's special 'sign in' area where children can practise writing their name
Children are able to wash their hands independently in the children bathroom
